Thank you so much for choosing Hart & Co Bridal to be part of your special day. This document sets out the full terms and conditions for your bridal hair and/or makeup services. It forms a legally binding contract between us, so please read it carefully.
If you have any questions or would like anything clarified, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
1. Definitions
Customer – You, the person booking the services.
Supplier / I / Me – Leanne Hart, trading as Hart & Co Bridal Beauty
Team Member – A vetted and insured hair and/or makeup artist engaged by me to carry out services on my behalf.
Quote – The detailed, pick-and-choose quote you accepted, outlining the services, artist choice, fees, and wedding location.
Deposit Invoice – The invoice generated once the Quote is accepted.
Secondary invoice - The 20% invoice generated 6 months before the wedding.
Final Invoice – The invoice issued around four weeks before your wedding, showing any outstanding balance.
2. Formation of Contract
A legally binding contract is formed when you accept your custom quote online. Once accepted, you’ll receive a Deposit Invoice, which confirms the services booked and locks in pricing. By paying the deposit, you agree to the terms in this contract.
3. Services
The services provided are outlined in your accepted Quote and Deposit Invoice.
Services may be carried out by me personally or by a qualified Team Member, depending on your selection.
Team Members are fully vetted, professionally insured, and work to my high standards.
If services are to be tailored to your specific needs (e.g. allergies, special styles), it is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete information.
All services are subject to availability at the time of booking.
4. Trials
Trial appointments with Leanne Hart are typically offered on Fridays. Availability may vary depending on the time of year.
If you are booking with a Team Member, their trial availability and policies will be discussed with you directly after booking. All Team Members aim to be as flexible as possible.
5. Fees and Payment
Your pricing is locked in once the quote is accepted.
Payment is made by bank transfer only, in accordance with the invoice due dates.
Some optional fees may only become relevant after booking (e.g. travel fees, minimum booking value). These are outlined in the brochure and may be added to your Final Invoice if applicable without prior notice, so please check your booking before invoice deadlines.
Travel is charged at 55p per mile from the artist’s home address to the wedding morning location and back (round trip). This will be included in your quote or added to your Final Invoice if not yet confirmed.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the Final Invoice contains all services required on the wedding morning. Any missed services may not be able to be added later due to scheduling constraints. Please check carefully before making final payment.
6. Changes to the Booking
Once your Final Invoice has been issued (typically 4 weeks before the wedding), the number of services cannot be reduced. For example, if a bridal party member cancels or changes their mind, the full balance remains due. If you wish to add services and scheduling allows, I’ll confirm availability and issue a revised invoice.
The minimum spend, as detailed in the brochure or quote, must be met regardless of any reductions.
7. Late Payment
Payment deadlines are outlined on your invoices. If a payment is missed:
A reminder will be sent to you.
48 hours later a late fee of £35 will be applied.
An additional £5 per day will be added for each calendar day the invoice remains unpaid.
Services may be cancelled if payment is still not received after 7 days.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
You may withdraw from the booking without charge before the deposit is paid.
After the deposit is paid, it is non-refundable.
If you cancel after the Secondary Invoice is paid (typically around 6 months before the wedding or at the trial), that payment is also non-refundable.
If you cancel after the Final Invoice is issued, the full amount remains payable. The contract continues until services are completed or formally cancelled.
9. Subcontracted Team Members and Illness
Services may be carried out by either Leanne Hart or a qualified Team Member. In both cases, the contract remains with Hart and Co Bridal Beauty.
If I or the assigned Team Member become ill, injured, or otherwise unable to provide the services, I will give as much notice as possible and try to arrange a suitable replacement of comparable experience and skill.
If a replacement cannot be found, any payments made for the affected services will be refunded, and no further liability will be accepted.
10. Use of Tools and Products
For hygiene, safety, and insurance reasons:
No one other than the artist(s) may handle or use tools, brushes, makeup, electrical equipment, or any other kit belonging to Leanne Hart or a Team Member.
If this happens, we reserve the right to pause or refuse services to protect health and prevent damage or contamination.
11. Health Conditions and Allergies
The Customer must inform the Supplier of any allergies, sensitivities, or medical conditions that may affect the use of products or delivery of services. This also applies for all bridal party members. The Supplier cannot be held responsible for any reaction, loss, or damage resulting from withheld or unknown information.
A patch test can be offered on request prior to the trial to minimise risk.
12. Behaviour Policy
To ensure a calm and professional environment, respectful behaviour is expected from all individuals present during services.
The Supplier reserves the right to stop or refuse services if anyone becomes abusive, aggressive, inappropriately intoxicated, or behaves in a way that endangers health or safety. No refunds will be given in such cases.
13. Aftercare and Client Responsibility
Once services are completed, the Supplier and/or Team Members are not responsible for any loss of quality, longevity, or appearance caused by the actions of the Customer or any members of the bridal party.
Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Eating, drinking, or wiping the mouth after makeup has been applied
- Touching, playing with, or re-styling hair once it has been professionally finished
- Exposing styled hair to humidity or rain without adequate cover
- Crying heavily or wiping eyes
- Dressing in a way that disrupts hair or makeup (e.g. tight-fitting tops pulled over the head)
- Using handheld steamers near the hair or face (especially while wearing makeup or styled hair)
- Wearing heavy veils or hairpieces without previously discussing their fit or weight
- Applying additional products (e.g. powder, lipsticks, hairspray) without guidance.
Additionally, a carefully planned schedule will be provided ahead of the wedding day to ensure a smooth and relaxed morning. If members of the bridal party fail to be ready at their allocated time, or if delays are caused by the Customer or others at the venue, the Supplier and Team Members cannot be held responsible if services are rushed, unfinished, or do not meet expectations due to the reduced time available.
For best results, follow all professional advice and be punctual, calm, and respectful of the schedule.
14. Insurance and Certification
Copies of my qualifications, public liability insurance, and PAT testing certification are available on request.
All Team Members are required to hold professional insurance and qualifications appropriate to the services they provide.
15. Photos and Marketing
I may ask to use your professional wedding images for my portfolio and marketing (e.g. website, social media, printed materials).
Your name and personal details will never be shared. This is optional, and you can opt out at any time.
16. Force Majeure (Things Outside Our Control)
If events outside our reasonable control prevent services being delivered (e.g. illness, severe weather, venue closure, pandemic):
I will notify you as soon as possible. We’ll both act reasonably to find a solution (e.g. reschedule, adjust timings).
If your wedding is postponed and I’m available for your new date, I will transfer the booking. If I’m unavailable, the contract will end and payments will not be refunded. I recommend purchasing wedding insurance to protect against unforeseen issues.
17. Reviews and Public Comments
You are welcome to leave honest feedback about your experience. However, by entering this agreement, you agree to the following:
- You will not publish or share any false, misleading, defamatory, or malicious comments, reviews, or content about the Supplier or any Team Member in any public forum, including social media, blogs, videos, or review platforms.
- If services were completed to a professional standard and you expressed satisfaction at the time (verbally or otherwise), and no complaints were raised on the day, you agree not to later publicly post content that contradicts this without first contacting the Supplier directly to discuss and resolve your concerns.
- You acknowledge that the results of hair and/or makeup styling depend significantly on aftercare and individual actions (as described in Clause 13). The Supplier and Team Members cannot be held responsible for deterioration caused by client actions or environmental factors, and negative feedback arising from such circumstances may be considered misleading.
- If any content is published that breaches these terms, the Supplier reserves the right to request that it be removed. Legal action may be taken where defamatory or harmful content has been posted in breach of UK law.
18. Legal Matters
This contract is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be handled through the courts of England and Wales.
If you have a concern or complaint, I will always try to resolve it professionally and quickly.
Agreement
By paying your deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this contract.
Thank you again for choosing me (or one of my incredible team members) to be part of your wedding day. It’s such an honour to be involved in such a special, meaningful moment in your life, and I’m truly grateful for your trust.
